Two people — Niel and Melanie — from opposite sides of the world, somehow found themselves standing outside a guesthouse on Joubert Road in Green Point. The house had that feeling. The kind of place that pulls you in. And the wild part? Joubert just so happens to be Niel’s surname.
Call it fate. Call it a sign. Either way, that moment sparked the beginning of something special.
How a Street Name Turned Into Cape Town’s Favourite Collection of Airbnbs
They turned that guesthouse into what is now Green Villa — a solar-powered, seven-room escape with sea views, a pool, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to cancel your flight home. It was the first property in what would later become the Cape Collection — a growing portfolio of standout Airbnbs in Cape Town’s best neighbourhoods: Green Point, Sea Point, and De Waterkant.
In the early days, Niel and Melanie did it all. But as the vision expanded and the bookings rolled in, they knew it was time to grow the team. That’s when Floris joined — bringing fresh ideas, and the drive to take the Collection even further.
